Length is the most important part for a habitat. Hamsters don’t have very good eyesight, so tall cages and stacked levels are not recommended. They require unbroken floor space as per pic below. A habitat in length allows for the hamster to have a large section of deep paper bedding for hamsters to naturally burrow and make intricate tunnels.
